The young Canadian guitarist Xu Kun Liu (Alan Liu) Plays Introduction et Caprice, Op. 23 by Giulio Regondi (1823–1872) at the GFA 2016 Youth Competition Senior Division. It’s followed up by another work by Cataluña by Albeniz. This comes via the Guitar Foundation of America on their YouTube. You probably remember Xu Kun from his 2014 junior division youth win. Here he is, a bit older and playing wonderfully once again in the senior division of the youth competition. Born in Xi’An (China) in 2001, he lives and studies in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has been studying the guitar as well as piano since he was five. For the past many years he’s been studying with Daniel Bolshoy at the VSO School of Music.
