This exciting work is from Mertz’s Bardenklänge (Bardic Sounds) collection. Unruhe translates to restlessness. Mertz was very influenced by the great composers of his day, in particular Liszt, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Schumann. In this work I really hear more of the rhapsodic nature of Liszt. It’s amazing how well this work technically sits on the guitar while sounding quite extroverted. Video Lesson Link.
