Tim Beattie Performs Divertimento No.2 by de Fossa

Canadian guitarist Tim Beattie performs Divertimento No.2 from Quatre Divertissements Op. 13Extraits Des Oeuvres De J. Haydn by François de Fossa (1775–1849). Movements: I. Largo Cantabile and II. Rondo Allegro. This comes via his Youtube Channel and played on N.G. Ries replica guitar by Miodrag Zerdoner. Filmed at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where Beattie studies with Matthew McAllister.

Great to see such a quality performance from Beattie who I last featured way back in 2016. Filled with some nice and sweet phrasing throughout with some zippy contrasts in the rondo. I wish people played more de Fossa who has a large amount of good works ranging from solos, duos, quartets and chamber music. You might also know him as the copyist of Luigi Boccherini’s well-known quintets.
