Thomas Echols Plays Brouwer Works

Thomas Echols - Guitar

American guitarist Thomas Echols plays three pieces by Cuban composer and guitarist Leo Brouwer (b.1939). The pieces are Elogio de la Danza (Praise to Dance), Un Dia de Noviembre (A Day in November) (1967), and Danza Caracteristica (Characteristic Dance). This comes via Apollo Chamber Players‘ ‘Cuba Libre!’ concert program, exploring the rich folk music of the island nation. I really like Echols mature, intelligent, and well-rounded musical playing style.

You can get sheet music for these via Amazon: Elogio de la Danza, Un Dia de Noviembre, Danza Caracteristica
