Sanel Redzic Plays Aire Vasco, op. 19 by Antonio Jiménez Manjón

Sanel Redžić plays Aire Vasco Op.19 by Antonio Jiménez Manjón (1866-1919). This comes via his fantastic YouTube channel. Recorded in Schottenkirche, Erfurt, on a 2017 Alkis Efthimiadis guitar. Great to hear some Manjón who is generally underplayed despite a significant catalogue of nice compositions and arrangements. Manjón was born in the Andalusia region of Spain and became blind when still a young child. He later settled in Buenos Aires. He also met the great Paraguayan guitarist, Agustín Barrios and gave him some tuition. It is rumoured that after hearing a concert by Manjón that Miguel Llobet decided to fully pursue the guitar. Awesome playing from Redžić who keeps the composition moving forward even during those indulgent slurs and figurations at the end.
