Sabrina Vlaskalic plays Sonata Op. 47 by Ginastera

Serbian born guitarist Sabrina Vlaskalic, now teaching at The Prince Clause Conservatoire (The Hanze University) in Groningen, The Netherlands, plays Sonata Op. 47 by Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera (1916-1983). This comes via her YouTube channel. Some fantastic and aggressive playing of this difficult work. The contrasts from extroverted to introverted phrases and dynamic levels are very exciting. Vlaskalic studied for her masters at the Royal Conservatoire of Music in The Hague (The Netherlands) under the guidance Zoran Dukic for which I think we can see some influence. This sonata was written in 1976 for the guitarist Carlos Barbosa-Lima. It’s the only original composition for guitar by Ginastera. Sheet music is available via Sheet Music Plus: Sonata for Guitar Op. 47.
