I know Spanish guitar music is overplayed and not always every teacher’s choice but this book of duets is great. These intermediate level duos for classical guitar offer students and enthusiasts excellent rhythmic and melodic duos. The effort to success ratio is very high! What I mean by that is, for a minimal amount of effort the student will have a very high success rate. I’ve already tried these out with students and the students love them as well. There are a few works where one part is easier which is useful but there are also more evenly distributed duo parts as well.

Personally, I’m not always a huge fan of listening to traditional Spanish music but the rhythm and melodies are very satisfying for students and enthusiasts looking for something that will hit the spot performance-wise. I think professionals will also find these of use for casual gigs when the general audience is pretty much craving the Spanish vibe.

Nice clean score with not too much or too little fingering. One of Mel Bay’s cleaner and better looking scores.

Kacha Metreveli has put out a much needed book that will satisfy and please guitarists of beginner to intermediate levels. Great for the teaching studio, amateur and student recitals, and professional gigs (casual performances).
