Piotr Pakhomkin plays the Chaconne (Ciaccona) from Partita in D minor for solo violin (BWV 1004) by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). This comes via his YouTube Channel. Player’s often over-Romanticize the rhythms and gestures in this work but I like how Pakhomkin has kept the rhythms crisp and clean. As the winner of the 2016 Respighi International Soloist Competition, Piotr will perform in Carnegie Hall with the Chamber Orchestra of New York in the 2017/18 Season.
