Bartolomeo Bortolazzi was an Italian composer and performing guitarist and mandolin virtuoso. He was credited by music historian Philip J. Bone as helping to pull the mandolin out of decline. These two nocturnes (or notturnos) are from his Periodical Amusements for the Spanish Guitar. From a technical standpoint they are quite easy with minimal awkwardness but, depending on your tempo and refinement, can offer opportunities to display some performance flare of higher levels.
