Nocturne No.2, Op.4 by Mertz

Nocturne No.2, Op.4 by Johann Kaspar Mertz (1806–1856) – PDF Sheet Music for Classical Guitar. Free video lesson. Includes both a notation-only edition and a tab edition. Intermediate (Grade 6) due to some hinge barres, I feel it is on the early-intermediate side if you study it carefully.

Please note: there is an Allegro con brio that is played attacca to this which you can see in the facsimile here but is not included in my score, mine has the beautiful and contained first piece only.

  1. Thanks for sharing Mertz, guitar music is more complex rhythmically and very rich even in his shorter pieces. His music should be in anyone’s repertoire.
