Always nice to feature youth players on the site as we might hear them again down the road and they deserve so much praise for their hard work. 12 year old German guitarist Nina Bernert plays Phantasia D major by David Kellner (1670–1748), arr. Hubert Käppel. Another fantastic youth student via Stefan Schmidt and his YouTube channel where he highlights some of his great students. Schmidt has taught a wide range of successful students from Leonora Spangenberg to Jessica Kaiser and more. Congrats to him and his students. I’m going to try to contact him about his teaching and see what kind of materials and ideas he has. Enjoy this nice performance of the Kellner, one of the best lute composers of the era.
