Michael Partington performing Open Up Your Ears by Bryan Johanson (b. 1951), UW Milwaukee, April 4, 2014 on a Martin Blackwell guitar. Partington is a fantastic player based in the Seattle area. I’ve seen him play on a number of occasions, he has a flawless and pristine style but has also loosened up in recent years filling his concerts with humour and fun works such as this one by Johanson. “His recordings are available on the Rosewood Recordings, Present Sounds and Cadenza Music labels. He currently lives in Seattle where he is director of the Guitar Program at the University of Washington.” (more via his bio page).
