Michael Kolk plays La fille aux cheveux de lin by Debussy

Canadian guitarist Michael Kolk plays La fille aux cheveux de lin by Claude Debussy (1862-1918). FYI to my younger students, this is originally for piano from Debussy’s first book of Préludes, written between late 1909 and early 1910. The French title translates roughly to “The Girl with the Flaxen Hair”. Michael is one of my favourite guitarists, thoughtful, musical, and refined. Recorded live in concert at Heliconian Hall, Toronto, June 23, 2014.

  1. Debussy would have been proud….a pitty he didn’t compose for guitar. Kolk seems to have been able to chanel his anima in his seamless interpretation.
