Great to hear Tariq Harb‘s new album Melodic Inspiration featuring Baroque, Spanish, and Romantic Repertoire including Rodrigo’s Aranjuez Adagio with the North York Concert Orchestra. Harb’s clear and musical playing shines through with a sense of directness and sensitivity to phrasing and melodic detail. Also hear the fantastic contrasts between meditative pacing in selections such as Bach’s Prelude BWV1007 to the zippy extroverted showmanship of works such as El Colibri by Sagreras (both in video below). I’m also very impressed with the quality of the recording from his home studio, really nice clarity and shiny warmth.
