Marcin Dylla plays Nocturnal after John Dowland, Op. 70 by English composer Benjamin Britten (1913–1976). This comes via the fantastic Siccas Guitars and their great YouTube channel. Here Dylla is playing a Gabriele Lodi Torres Guitar Model Spruce/Maple. Britten was a central figure 20th-century British classical music, with a range of works including opera, other vocal music, orchestral and chamber pieces. We are very lucky to have this work by Britten which was commissioned by Bream. It is possibly on of the most important works in modern guitar literature. It’s a set of dreamscape variations in reverse with the John Dowland theme occurring only at the very end. Sheet Music available on Amazon: Nocturnal by Britten.
