Leccion No.1 by Cano (Beginner, Free PDF)

Leccion No.1 by Antonio Cano (1811-1897) – Free PDF sheet music, performance, and lesson video for classical guitar. From his Método de Guitarra (1852). Mid-Beginner level, for use at the end of my Method Book Volume 1 or during Volume 2.

Free PDF Sheet Music Edition

Antonio Cano (1811-1897) was a Spanish guitarist and composer. A pupil of Dionisio Aguado and likely a teacher of Tarrega, he is also credited in part for the development of modern guitar tremolo.

This is part of a collection of easy supplemental pieces after my free Classical Guitar Method Volume 1. or during my Classical Guitar Method Volume 2. This is a nice easy work without any oddities or awkward fingerings. I recommend playing it near the end or after my Volume 1 method or during my Volume 2 method. The collection I’m forming will add a few extra pieces for students to play before they move on to my graded series or just for enjoyment and extra practice.

Here is the YouTube lesson link if you want to watch it there.

  1. After a long lay-off from classical guitar (20+ years), I started at the beginning again. I’ve just ‘finished’ Book 1 (but intend to revisit lots) and have bought Book 2.

The video lessons are invaluable, thank you.

  2. I am loving your music for beginners! Thank you, thank you. And the best New Year to you and your staff. You are keeping me happily practicing, and my husband is enjoying it too. Sincerely, Virginia Geoffrey
