Singapore guitarist Kevin Loh (18) plays Sonatina meridional (1939) by Mexican composer Manuel María Ponce (1882–1948). This comes via his YouTube Channel. Ponce wrote a great deal of guitar music for Segovia and they are some of the best pieces in the classical guitar repertoire. There is some debate as to whether follow Segovia’s rewrites or Ponce’s originals and there are great arguments for both. Besides his strength as a composer, the debate will keep performances of these pieces exciting for years to come. Great job by Kevin Loh who is really developing into a great guitarist.
