Swedish guitarist Johan Löfving performs the Tarantelle by Johann Kaspar Mertz (1806-1856) on a Tribout guitar from 1850. Filmed by TallWall Media at the Swedish Church, London. This comes via his Youtube Channel. A fantastic performance that I listened to a number of times while appreciating it more every time. Played with great energy and dynamic shaping as well as a gentle inner section. I enjoyed the dramatic strumming and articulations throughout. I love hearing a familiar piece but with a daring approach that makes me rethink the interpretation.
