Introduction to Rhythm via Brad Harrison on his fantastic YouTube channel. If you are beginner or late-beginner student watch this video to get an introduction to rhythm in music. There is a lot of information all at once so don’t expect to retain it all. Just sit back and absorb as much as you can. You can always come back and watch this again, I’ll list it in the rhythm section of my lesson page.
If you are an absolute beginner I recommend you start with my introduction to reading music notation.
If you are past my Volume 1 method you can see my rhythm exercises in my Volume 2 method. Here’s a few:
- 4/4 Time Signature, Quarter, Half, Whole Notes (Exercises 1-3)
- 3/4 Time Signatures and Dotted Half Notes (Exercises 4-6)
- Rests: Quarter, Half, Whole, Dotted Half Note (Exercises 7-12)
- Counting Eighth Notes, 2/4 Time Signature (Exercises 13-19)
