I was checking out the concerts for GuitarFest West at Mount Royal University Conservatory, Calgary, Alberta, Canada and thought I’d do a video showcase of the performing artists. GFW features workshops, lessons, masterclasses, performances, and an optional competition for classical guitar students ages 13+. - August 7-9, 2024 (Early bird deadline is July 4, registration ends August 1)
- Competition: First Prize: $1000, concert at GuitarFest West 2025, concert in Nelson, BC, piece written for the winner by composer Ben Lahring + professional video recording of the piece. Second Prize: $500, Third Prize: $250
- Special Acknowledgements for outstanding performance of a piece by a female/non-binary composer and outstanding performance of a piece by a Canadian composer
