Grande Serenade en Potpourri Op.63 by Hummel

Artyom Dervoed (guitar) with Polina Osetinskaya (piano), Haik Kazazyan (violin), Alexander Ramm (cello) and Maxim Rubtsov (flute) perform the Grande Serenade en Potpourri Op.63 for piano, violin, guitar, flute and cello by Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778–1837).

Wonderful performance with excellent orchestration and balance in the ensemble for guitar. Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778–1837) was an Austrian composer and virtuoso pianist especially known for his piano works and concertos but also maintained an interest in guitar. In this work we have an alternate guitar or viola part. He was a student of many greats such as Mozart, Salieri, Clementi, and Haydn and also friends with Beethoven and Schubert. His music is maybe less architecturally crafted than Beethoven but still excellent examples of late Classical era works.
