Gabriel Bianco Plays Francesco Da Milano

French Guitarist Gabriel Bianco performing the music of Italian composer Francesco Da Milano (1497–1543) during the 2014 Classical Guitar Retreat on the Island of Cumbrae, Scotland. The three pieces performed are ‘Fantaisia, De Mon Triste and La Compagna. This all comes from Matthew McAllister’s Youtube, Matthew is an excellent guitarist himself and director of the retreat. Francesco Da Milano is one of the great Renaissance composers that we are so lucky to have, his music has a clean and sweet texture with counterpoint and imitation that one might see in Josquin des Prez et al who he was heavily influenced by. FYI, his contemporaries also called him Il divino for his performances and improvisational skill.
