Fantasia pour guitare et piano, Op. 145 by Castelnuovo-Tedesco

Eugeny Kozlov (guitar) and Maria Dvoretskaya (piano) performing Fantasia pour guitare et piano, Op. 145 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895—1968). This comes via the Russian Guitar Magazine on their Youtube. Fantastic playing by both, Tedesco can be super difficult with all those moving traids and faster passages but they pull it off beautifully.

Written in 1950 for Andrés et Paquita. The names refer to Andrés Segovia who you all know and Francisca “Paquita” Madriguera Rodon (1900-1965) who was a Catalan pianist and composer, who was based for much of her adult life in Uruguay.  In 1932, she moved back to Spain and eventually married Segovia. The work has two movements: I. Andantino II. Vivacissimo.
