The legendary Fabio Zanon (one of my favorite guitarists) gives a brilliant masterclasses at the Moscow International ‘Guitar Virtuosi’ festival, 2017. This comes via the Russian Guitar Magazine on their YouTube. At first the translation pauses bothered me but actually I started liking having the time to think about each thing Zanon says. Lots of amazing advice on musical and technical ideas. Part 3/3 has some great moments of Zanon improvising accompaniment to the students Bach. Student’s plays repertoire by Giuliani’s Sonata Eroica (Sergey Chirikov); Scarlatti’s Sonata D minor (Sergey Chirikov); J.S. Bach’s Violin Sonata no. 1. Presto (Sergey Khvan).
