Canadian guitarist Emma Rush plays Air Varié de Vive Henri IV by Julia Piston (ca.1800-1842). This comes via her excellent YouTube channel and this piece is available on her excellent album Wake the Sigh that I reviewed. This is one of the works from her album that I thought was particularly good and overlooked in terms of the traditional repertoire and I’d love to make an edition of it. Wonderful playing by Rush on a period instrument Stauffer replica by Canadian luthier Miodrag Žerdoner. Make sure to subscribe to her channel and check out the album.
Hope you make an edition. It’s great to find–and play–music composed by women.
Yes, it’s already made, I just have to do some final edits!
…and wearing a guitar strap! But the instrument looks sturdy in her hands.
Interesting to see a classical guitarist standing
thank you –
