Daniel Schatz Plays Sonata K.22 by Scarlatti

Daniel Schatz performs Sonata K.22 / L.360 by Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757), originally for keyboard. This comes via his YouTube channel. Amazing performance, just look at that left hand move through the thick musical texture along with his solid rhythmic drive and motivic attention. This is the first time I’ve featured Israeli guitarist Daniel Schatz but I subscribed to his YouTube at some point and now I’m going back and watching all his vids. His very direct performance along with some added sweet spots highlights the possible textures modern players can handle despite the obvious difficulties of arranging keyboard music. Below is a performance on harpsichord by Canadian pianist and harpsichordist David Louie of the same sonata via his YouTube.
