Carlos Bedoya performs the second movement, Passacaglia from Tres Piezas Españolas by Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo (1901-1999). This comes via Guitar Salon International and their YouTube channel. Nice performance by Bedoya with good contrasts and dynamics as well as motivic attention. This has always been one of my favourite works by Rodrigo and I distinctly remember hearing Stephen Lochbaum perform it way back when we were students in Victoria and being so captivated. If you want to hear the other movements check out Drew Henderson’s videos of the Fandango and the amazing Zapateado.
