Bradford Werner Plays Sarabande for Guitar by Francis Poulenc

Bradford Werner plays Sarabande for Guitar, To Ida Presti, (FP179) by Francis Poulenc (1899-1963). Composed in 1960. I love this piece for it’s motivic repetition and overall calm feel.

Sheet Music: I’m using this Recordi edition via SMP but changed many of the fingerings: Sarabande by Poulenc

  1. Thank you Brad! So nice to hear this lovely piece again and as you play it so sensitively and melodiously. It’s too bad Poulenc didn’t compose more for the guitar .. I loved playing this piece. Penny is unbelievably cute!

  2. Hi Bradford. Thanks for a lovely, sensitive and expressive rendition. I think you’ve captured the mood of this piece perfectly. I see that the fingering indications in the sheet music show the same chords in different positions. I’m looking forward to watching your video a few times to try and work out where you’ve changed the fingering! Best wishes, Tom
